Denpa / Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-09-23 / Applies to: Denpa Network Check (iPhone and Mac)
This is a translation of the Japanese privacy policy. If the two differ, the Japanese version applies.
Denpa is an app for measuring the state of your Wi-Fi and internet connection and narrowing down where a problem is. There is an iPhone version and a Mac version, and they differ in what they can measure and in how the permissions work. See the page for the device you use.
Each page has the details; the main differences are these.
| iPhone | Mac | |
|---|---|---|
| Without Location | The network name (SSID) is not shown | Neither names nor addresses are shown, and channel utilization and the least busy channels are not shown either |
| Without Local Network | Every measurement still runs | Quality to the router cannot be measured |
| Speed test destination | Cloudflare (three others can be chosen in Settings) | Cloudflare only (cannot be changed) |
| Nearby networks | Not handled | Names (SSID) and addresses (BSSID) are shown on screen (they never leave the device) |
